History:

In 2018, a group of leaders from Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN) were gathered to set the strategic plan for upcoming year. One of the ideas that had been floating around was developing a system to impact campaigns and policies more directly. Hogan Sherrow volunteered to research the matter more fully, and the seeds of ROCPAC were planted. Now, a year later, ROCPAC is a Political Action Committee with the state of Oregon, has a Steering Committee of climate activists and experts, and is organizing in communities throughout rural Oregon. ROCPAC is actively working to bring the voices of rural Oregonians concerned about climate action to local leaders and the Statehouse in Salem.
